We are like the first Pilgrims. We are gathered here to give thanks and glory to God.

A.             2 Cor 8:9: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.”

Phil 2:6-11:

“. . . who though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

B.             2 Cor. 9:8: “And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work.”

Phil 4:4-7:

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, Rejoice. Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand. Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

C.             2 Cor 9:15: “Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift!” (KJV)

(Meaning beyond all that we can ask or think.)

“Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!” (RSV)
