Below are three liturgies for “Confession and Forgiveness” that take sin with absolute seriousness the way that the doctrine of original sin requires. By being forgiven we are not thereby empowered to do good works. Rather, the absolution frees us to live, totally damned and totally forgiven, using common reason and the sword in service to others.
