Forde: <em>\u201cWhat the law enjoins is love of and service to the neighbor. That is its fundamental and ineradicable content\u201d <\/em>(Forde, \u201cLaw and Sexual Behavior,&#8221; Lutheran Quarterly 9\/1 [Spring 1995]18).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">b.\tThere is no third use of the law, no particular revealed law(s) for the Christian, nor can one see through any \u201cnatural law\u201d to discern divine intention.<\/p>\n<p>2.\tThe bottom line: \u201cThis flows from the very nature of the gospel and cannot be compromised,\u201d and the \u201cvery essence of the matter.\u201d If anyone exerts a \u201cpressure which destroys this freedom, we come to a serious parting of the ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">This means that any and every attempt to counter antinomism by bringing back &#8220;revealed&#8221; or &#8220;natural&#8221; law, even &#8220;evangelical counsels,&#8221; contradicts the gospel (Galatians 5:1).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When Gerhard Forde writes in the previous post: 1. \u201c\u2026all causes are relativized\u201d and \u201c\u2026there are no levers here,\u201d this means: a.
