As a consequence, Epiphany becomes an overlooked season. But it could be the perfect season to preach on the Word and sacraments. By doing this every year, congregations would develop a Lutheran identity and a joy in Luther\u2019s rediscovery of the certainty of salvation, outside of us, in spite of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are usually five to seven Sundays in Epiphany that could be devoted to the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Epiphany, the coming of the light<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Christ, the Word<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The preached Word<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Baptism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Lord\u2019s Supper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confession, absolution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prayer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ministry<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After Christmas many pastors start planning for Lent.
