{"id":767,"date":"2010-04-16T09:58:57","date_gmt":"2010-04-16T16:58:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crossalone.us\/?p=767"},"modified":"2010-04-16T09:58:57","modified_gmt":"2010-04-16T16:58:57","slug":"glbt-not-born-that-way-not-unchangeable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crossalone.us\/?p=767","title":{"rendered":"GLBT: Not born-that-way, not unchangeable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An news release from the American College of Pediatricians cautions educators about dealing with students experiencing same-sex attraction and\/or gender confusion.<\/p>\n<p>This message has been sent of College president Thomas Benton, MD, to all 14,800 school district superintendents in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Among the main points the pediatricians make:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s not uncommon for teenagers to experience same-sex attractions. Most will get over such attractions if not otherwise encouraged. Prematurely labeling kids gay or lesbian encourages some to engage in risky behaviors.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0 There is no scientific evidence that anyone is born gay or transgendered.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0 Research has shown that therapy can restore heterosexual attraction for many.
