Mr. Eggen\u2019s proposal states that \u201cNo student or family should be referred to programs which purport to \u2018fix\u2019 \u2018change or \u2018repair\u2019 a student\u2019s sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.\u201d This na\u00efve and oppressive statement disregards the underlying emotional, mental or physical reasons that might lead someone to identify sexually as someone other than his or her morphological and genetic identity.
