{"id":1862,"date":"2014-04-07T11:00:52","date_gmt":"2014-04-07T18:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crossalone.us\/?p=1862"},"modified":"2014-04-07T11:57:23","modified_gmt":"2014-04-07T18:57:23","slug":"no-to-%e2%80%9cnoah%e2%80%9d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crossalone.us\/?p=1862","title":{"rendered":"No to \u201cNoah\u201d?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>But isn\u2019t the film close enough?\u00a0Isn\u2019t it at least better than most Hollywood productions?\u00a0Gets a useful discussion about the Bible going?<\/p>\n<p><strong>The only question is:\u00a0 Who is God in this film?<\/strong> Yes, the name \u201cthe Creator\u201d is used and the word \u201cGod\u201d occurs.\u00a0But the \u201cCovenant God,\u201d the<\/p>\n<p>God who creates a world based on the covenant He first makes with Adam and Eve (the tree of life and all that), then with Noah (symbolized by the rainbow),<\/p>\n<p>Is missing, or at least so much on the fringe of things that it requires reinterpretation of the film to find it.\u00a0The God of the Bible, the God alone who establishes<\/p>\n<p>Justice and mercy through His covenant, does not allow any substitutes, even fringe gods (idols), even somewhat gods ( a la this film).<\/p>\n<p>The ordinary viewer cannot help be misled.\u00a0After all, isn\u2019t there some echo of the Biblical account?\u00a0Some echo is <strong>not good enough.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThou shalt have no other gods before me,\u201d <strong>not even somewhat gods.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>But isn\u2019t the film close enough?\u00a0Isn\u2019t it at least better than most Hollywood productions?\u00a0Gets a useful discussion about the Bible going?
